Former president FW de Klerk is the patron of the Nedbank South African Charity Golf day. The annual event raises funds for selected charities including Starfish Greatheart’s Foundation, the FW de Klerk Foundation, Foodbank, Warwick in Africa, the Cipla Foundation and Afrika Tikkun.
On 24 July 2013, Minister of Home Affairs, Naledi Pandor, visited former president FW de Klerk to hand over his new Smart ID card. This follows the official launch, which took place on 18 July.
