CONFERENCES, DIALOGUES AND ROUNDTABLES

Since its inception, the FW de Klerk Foundation has promoted and participated in dialogue and discussions relating to constitutional issues.
It has done so through its annual conferences; its conferences on national issues and the many roundtable meetings
that it has hosted over the years.

SPEECH: THE CENTRALITY OF PROPERTY RIGHTS FOR THE ECONOMY, FOR AGRICULTURE AND FOR THE NATIONAL ACCORD

We have convened this Conference at a critical time in the history of our young democracy.  

The ANC and Parliament have adopted resolutions calling for expropriation without compensation (EWC).  By so doing they have posed a fundamental threat to investment, economic growth, agriculture, food security and to the national accord on which our new nonracial democracy was founded.

NATIONAL FOUNDATIONS DIALOGUE INITIATIVE (NFDI)

The Foundation has always believed that dialogue and reconciliation must go beyond words and conversations. Action in support of disadvantaged communities is an important dimension of reconciliation. For this reason, the Foundation has, for almost 15 years, assisted organisations that care for disadvantaged and disabled children. It has raised almost R5 million, primarily overseas, for this purpose, which it has channelled to the following wonderful organisations:
