Klaus holds a BA degree in Social Dynamics (Stellenbosch), a BA Honours degree in Political Communication (University of Cape Town) and a MA degree in Global Studies (University of Leipzig, Germany). During the course of his studies in Stellenbosch he was actively involved in student structures; he attended a student exchange programme in the Netherlands and served on the Students’ Representative Council. During his postgraduate studies he worked as a student assistant, tutor and researcher.
Klaus will be
- Monitoring any developments that might affect inter-community relations;
- Supporting the provisions in the Constitution that recognise and protect language, education and cultural rights. In particular, he will continue the Foundation’s work in support of Afrikaans at university level;
- Generating articles and research on multicultural societies and inter-community relations; and will
- Taking active steps to help people claim their cultural and language rights and address situations that might be harmful to inter-community relations.
