The Foundation has long been a supporter of Chaeli, having nominated her for the KidsRights International Children’s Peace Prize, which she received in 2011. Former President De Klerk – on behalf of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates – also presented Chaeli with the first Medal for Social Activism in 2012.

We applaud Chaeli’s ongoing commitment to the rights of children with disabilities in South Africa. We also wish her well on her journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro. We know that Chaeli is  – and will continue to be – an inspiration to all those that meet her and hear her remarkable story.
