FWDKF: Why did you want to intern with the FW de Klerk Foundation?

LM: I wanted to intern at the Foundation to contribute to its constitutional research and gain practical insight into policy analysis. This role also gives me an opportunity to work alongside professionals dedicated to protecting South Africa’s constitutional democracy.

FWDKF: What do you hope to achieve/learn during the internship?

LM: I hope to deepen my understanding of constitutional advocacy, improve my research and writing skills and learn how legal analysis is used to influence public debate and policy.

FWDKF: What is your background, country of origin and research focus?

LM: I am a South African law graduate currently pursuing an LLM in Intellectual Property Law, with a focus on the intersection of Intellectual Property Law, technology and human rights.

FWDKF: What are your career ambitions?

LM: I aspire to build a career in legal practice, specialising in intellectual property law while integrating constitutional principles to promote innovation, access and justice.
