ARTICLE: NZIMANDE’S PLAN TO IMPOSE LANGUAGE UNIFORMITY ON OUR UNIVERSITIES
According to a statement made by the Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, during his budget debate earlier this week, “… we no longer have Afrikaans or Zulu or Tswana universities. All our universities are South African universities and must serve all the people of this country.”
STATEMENT: THE CFCR WELCOMES MINISTER OF POLICE’S COMMITMENT TO CONSTITUTION
The Centre for Constitutional Rights (the CFCR) welcomes the commitment of the Minister of Police, Nathi Nhleko, to “restoring the citizens’ faith and trust in our law enforcement agencies and the criminal justice system” whilst recognising the need to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of the South African Police Service (SAPS).
