Today the fundamental rights of South Africans are enshrined in our Constitution under the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is a cornerstone of democracy in South Africa. It enshrines the rights of all people in the country and affirms the democratic values of human dignity, equality and freedom.

the writing of legal opinions and analyses;
the production of numerous articles on constitutional issues;
participation in radio and TV interviews;
the publishing of its annual Human Rights Report Card;
the provision of assistance to the public on constitutional questions;
strategic litigation against hate speech;
human rights monitoring and reporting to the South African Human Rights Commission;
liaison with civil society organisations;
hosting constitutional education workshops at schools and at Salesian Life Choices; and
hosting job-shadowing programmes.
