The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development recently published the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act (4 of 2000 and known as PEPUDA) amendment Bill for public comment.
The FW de Klerk Foundation (the Foundation) was established in 1999 to protect and promote the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, as the most important legacy of its founder, former President FW de Klerk. 1.2 The Foundation recognises the need for the transformation of sport and recreation, to make sport and recreation facilities, participation and training available to all South Africans.It believes that the Department of Sport and Recreation; the Department of National Education and sporting federations and bodies have a duty to make sport and recreation accessible to all South Africans and particularly to the youth.

To this end, the Foundation’s Centre for Constitutional Rights (the CFCR) seeks to promote the Constitution and the values, rights and principles enshrined in the Constitution; to monitor developments, including legislation and policy that may affect the Constitution or those values, rights and principles; to inform people and organisations of their constitutional rights and to assist them in claiming their rights. The Foundation does so in the interest of everyone in South Africa.

The FW de Klerk Foundation, in line with its annual theme of Land Reform and Property Rights, held a conference in Johannesburg yesterday, with the overall theme of “Property Rights for All South Africans – and the Role that Land Reform can Play in Expanding Property Rights”.
