Francois Venter

Board member

Francois Venter taught law since 1974 in the Faculty of Law in Potchefstroom, South Africa. He is a multiple recipient of research funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung for research visits to German institutions and was closely involved in the drafting of the South African constitutions between 1990 and 1995. He was the Dean of Law from 2001-2012 and is the author of various scholarly monographs and multiple journal articles. Since 2011, Prof Venter is an NRF-rated researcher “who enjoys considerable international recognition by his peers for the high quality and impact of his recent research outputs”, renewed and upgraded (B2) in 2017 until 2023.

He is currently Extraordinary Professor at the Faculty of Law of North-West University, Potchefstroom.
